Description

With a production run of fewer than 3000 units, Beat Time was introduced by Williams in 1967 at the height of The Beatles’ fame. This particular machine has just emerged gleaming from our workshop, after yet another of our extensive refurbishments involving a complete strip down and rebuild of the table.

Jerry Kelley’s fabulous artwork perfectly evokes not just the era but all the excitement of Beatlemania in the mid sixties.

It’s a simple, straight forward game with no drop down targets but for a 1960's machine, the game play is really smooth and offers lots of opportunities for training and skill enhancement. The rotating target is really responsive and getting all four lights lit up is quite a challenge. The five pop bumpers are pretty lively too, as you’d expect on a Williams table from this era.

All in all it’s a really fun machine, beautifully designed and packed with nostalgia.

In 1943, Harry Williams founded Williams Manufacturing Company at 161 West Huron Street in Chicago, Illinois.

A Stanford engineering graduate, Williams devised the “tilt” mechanism for pinball machines and their early models often included innovative features and pinball firsts, such as mechanical reel scoring and the "add-a-ball" feature for locations that didn't allow game replays. By 1967, pinball was in the middle of its so-called "golden age", and the number of pinball units sold began to increase dramatically.

The company went on to produce the legendary Addams Family pinball table, which remains one of the world’s most sought after machines and sold over 20,000 units in its time, setting an enviable record that still stands to this day.

The Games Room Company is one of the oldest pinball dealers in the country. Our founder, Reginald Waldersmith, played his first pinball game in 1960, and described it without irony as being “flipping excellent”. We’ve been selling pinball machines since 1962, so know a thing or two about our products! Our showroom will gladly assist you on any questions you may have before or after you purchase any Games Room Company equipment.
